Real Madrid to sell Gareth Bale: Kylian Mbappe wanted as replacement

Bale has been blighted by injuries this season, and according to sensational reports from Spain the club have had enough.

It’s claimed Paris St-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is wanted as the Welshman’s replacement.

Bale has suffered 19 injuries since being bought from Tottenham for £85m in 2013.

He was drafted in to share top billing at Real alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and despite winning three Champions League trophies and La Liga during his spell in Spain, but it hasn’t all gone to plan.

AS claim that along with his raft on injury layoffs, Bale’s lack of media presence and impact has also led to the club deciding to call time on his Bernabeu career.

It’s said Real decided to give Bale one final chance to shine this season, snubbing interest from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

But with the 28-year-old having not played since September 19 and in a race against time to be fit for the first Clasico of the season on December 23, Madrid top brass have changed tact.

They’re also said to be frustrated by Bale’s plummeting value.

AS report United would have paid €120-€150m (£107-£134m) in the summer transfer window to get a deal done.

But it’s claimed Bale will now only command a fee in the region of £62m-£71m.

Getting Mbappe in as his replacement won’t prove easy.

PSG snapped up the French attacking ace on a season-long loan deal from Monaco earlier this year.

They also spent huge money on getting in Neymar from Barcelona.

It’s claimed Mbappe will cost more than €200m (£178m) if they want him at the Bernabeu.
