Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has opened up about the possible transfer of Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona next summer. Los Colchoneros chief believes that the French forward will remain with Atléti for a while yet.

Three days before the Madrid derby, Cerezo spoke to several radio stations and discussed the former Real Sociedad man’s future at length, given that Mundo Deportivo have already reported how close he is to reaching an agreement with Barça: “Griezmann is an Atlético player and I tell you I think he will be here for a long time, and you know that I do not lie to you,” he said wryly to El Partidazo on La Cope.

When asked about the Frenchman’s poor run of form, he said that “players’ form can go up and down, but he is fine.”

Regardless of Barça’s interest, the club patron was also asked about Griezmann’s recent comments suggesting he would like to play with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, to which he replied: “Griezmann has said he wants to play with Neymar and Mbappé. Well, we will have to make an effort and bring them,” he said sarcastically.
