Atletico Madrid boss, Diego Simeone, claims that Real Madrid have signed all of the biggest talents in Spain and are ahead of the competition.
Ahead of the Madrileño derby, Atletico Madrid boss has lauded their crosstown rivals, claiming they still are the best in the world despite looking shaky in the opening fixtures. He compared Zinedine Zidane men with the Barcelona side that won it all and admitted how difficult it is to overcome such a side.
“We are going up against the team that is the best in the world, just as Barcelona were in their day,” he told a news conference, as quoted by Goal.
“They’ve won two Champions Leagues in a row and won La Liga last year.”
Simeone, who was full of admiration for the league holders, looked a little salty on Real Madrid acquiring all the biggest talents in Spain.
He added: “Right now, they’re better and they have taken all of the good kids from all of the different Spanish teams. They keep making sure the others can’t get to these kids. They have them stockpiled, but they have them.”
Atletico Madrid are still unbeaten in the league and are currently level on points with Real. Both Madrid sides are trailing Barcelona by eight points, and a win tonight is essential if they are to keep within touching distance of the Catalan giants.
