Real Madrid are facing losing one of their players to a ban following a crazy incident during the Champions League clash with APOEL.
That blow comes in the form of defender Dani Carvajal who has only just returned to the side with a heart issue.
The player had been struggling with a difficult condition but he overcome his troubles to return to the side and featured against APOEL.
Now, the player is involved in a huge debate with UEFA as they look to investigate if he purposely got booked during the clash.
The booking meant that Carvajal will miss the final group game against Borussia Dortmund which means nothing for either side.
The Spanish full-back was given the yellow card for time wasting which triggered an automatic ban but there have been some suggestions that there was another reason.
There have been suggestions that the player got booked to avoid featuring in the final game against Dortmund.
Now, UEFA are looking into the incident and if Carvajal is adjudged to have been booked on purpose, he could face a ban.
According to an article by the BBC, the player could well face a ban from the Champions League last-16 phase.
That would be a huge blow for Real Madrid with Carvajal seen as no doubt their best right back.
If UEFA judge the player to have not got the ban on purpose, his record will remain clean and he will not face a ban.

The players were reportedly watching the game ahead of their clash with Juventus this evening.
