There have been many great clashes between Chelsea and Barcelona with Rivaldo confident that the Azulgrana will come out on top when the next affair kicks off this Tuesday.
Rating Barcelona as the better team when compared to the Premier League title holders, the Brazilian knows that any match-up with an English side is tough to bypass.
“I think it will be a difficult tie, but Barcelona are favourites,” said Rivaldo to MARCA.
“You have to always respect English teams, but I think Barcelona are a better team than Chelsea and will qualify for the next round.”
Rivaldo played a key role in the epic Champions League clash between the two sides in 2000, the Blaugrana winning the return leg 5-1 after extra-time.
“I remember that we lost 3-1 in England but we came back here after going into extra-time in a difficult game,” he recalled.
“I had a penalty in the 45th minute of the second half to make it 4-1 and I missed. We went to extra time and then we scored two more goals.”
