Vinicius: I admire Neymar but will be supporting Real Madrid

Although he is fond of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, future Real Madrid player Vinicius has pledged his support to Los Blancos, ahead of the Champions League return leg between the two teams.

The 17-year-old prodigy, who recently won the Taca Guanabara with his current team Flamengo, has indicated that both the former Barcelona star, as well as Marcelo and Casemiro, have been in touch with him to provide advice.

“I admire Neymar a lot, but [in this Champions League tie] I will support Madrid,” he told Globoesporte.

“I get a lot of advice from him, but I will always go for Real Madrid.

“[Marcelo and Casemiro] have talked to me to congratulate me and ask how things are going around here.

“Playing big games at Flamengo like a final and scoring a goal to win the cup is what I’ve dreamt of since I was 10 years old.”

Vinicius also highlighted his wish to feature in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

“I dream of going to the World Cup and I’m giving my best so I can receive a call from Tite,” he said.

“These days I’ve been with Ronaldinho and he told that there is always a young player among the call-ups for the big tournaments, in order to get experience.”
