PSG bowed out of the Champions League with a 5-2 aggregate loss to Los Blancos which may cost Unai Emery his job at Parc des Princes.
After the Champions League elimination, PSG responded with a resounding 5-0 win over Metz on Saturday. The fans, however, were not impressed and targeted the under-fire manager with whistles. They don’t believe Unai Emery is the right man to guide their team to a European glory.
Kylian Mbappe, meanwhile, issued the words of support for Emery. He told L’Equipe: “The fans are not happy, but the coach is not the only one responsible. If they choose to whistle the coach, they must whistle us all because we lost together. It’s not Unai Emery who lost, it’s PSG so it’s up to all of us to be whistled. We are the ones on the pitch.”
Mbappe refused to discuss Emery’s future at PSG: “It’s not me who decides, I’m not in charge, but it’s true that I get along very well with the coach – he’s a very good coach. It is true that after the elimination it has been difficult but we are professionals, we must turn the page, and immediately move on. We will give everything for the three titles that remain.”
