Juventus vs Real Madrid: immediate reaction from the bosses

Real Madrid’s director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueño:

“It’s difficult. I think Spurs were better than Juve for much of their tie; that the Italians went through says much about them.

“We’ll have to be at our best. But we have once more shown what we’re capable of in our last-16 tie against PSG.”

Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved:

“These will be two good games, we know that we’ll face the best team in the draw, the team that have won the last two Champions Leagues. They’re doing well and they impressed me in Paris, but we’ll play the first leg at home and we’ll give them a hard time.

“I don’t think Juventus will suffer like they did in Cardiff, now it starts all over again.

“It’ll be difficult, we have two players banned (Benatia and Pjanic), but we’re also starting from scratch.

“Psychologically, they’re more used to just single matches than two-legged ties, and we saw that during the Final in Cardiff. We’ll have a few more chances over two legs.”
