Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio is hopeful Zinedine Zidane will remain as the club’s Coach beyond the current campaign.
The Frenchman’s future has come under scrutiny after a disappointing domestic campaign, with the champions 15 points behind league leaders Barcelona and out of the Copa del Rey.
“I want him to continue here and I believe he should,” Asensio told Cadena Ser.
“He has won two Champions League titles and La Liga – he is the ideal Coach for the club and for this group of players.
“It is incredible how quickly success can be forgotten about.”
The 22-year-old went on to reveal how Cristiano Ronaldo was now letting him take free-kicks: “Cristiano will take the first and then I will have a go.
“We have a good relationship together, and if you are confident enough he will allow you to take them.”
