Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo urges Florentino Perez to make ‘essential signing’

CRISTIANO RONALDO is reportedly desperate for Real Madrid to sign Goncalo Guedes when the transfer window rolls around again.

Real have endured a bitterly disappointing campaign by their high standards which has left the Champions League as their only hope of silverware.

And they’re expected to make wholesale changes to their underperforming squad in the summer, with plenty of incomings and outgoings.

Real have been tipped to sign a top striker to replace the misfiring Karim Benzema, with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Tottenham’s Harry Kane touted as targets.

Cristiano Ronaldo is apparently of the belief he can take on Benzema’s role though if Guedes is brought in to provide him with ammunition.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Ronaldo has specifically urged Florentino Perez to go after Guedes.

Guedes has spent the season on loan at Real Madrid’s La Liga rivals Valencia from Paris Saint-Germain.

And it seems he’s done enough to convince fellow Portugal international Ronaldo of his quality.

Ronaldo is said to believe his scoring statistics would go through the roof with Guedes alongside him.

And that means he’s stressed to Real president Perez that Guedes must be an ‘essential signing’.

Guedes is one of a number of attacking players that could flank Ronaldo if he plays centrally next season.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard are thought to be on Perez’s radar.

While Paulo Dybala is believed to prefer the idea of joining Real over Barcelona if he is to leave Juventus.
