REAL MADRID can beat Juventus and make it into the last four of the Champions League as long as Cristiano Ronaldo keeps up his current good form.
That’s the view of Ronaldo’s Madrid team-mate Luka Modric who believes the quarter final will be close.
Ronaldo has shone in this season’s Champions League scoring in each of Real’s eight games.
That comes despite having a poor first half of the La Liga season, though the Portuguese forward has more than made up for it.
Ronaldo has 22 La Liga goals, just four behind Lionel Messi with eight games to go.
But it’s the Champions League currently on the minds of Los Blancos, who make the trip to Juventus for the first leg tonight.
And Modric believes Ronaldo can keep up his good form and fire Zinedine Zidane’s men into a lead.
“He is in an incredible run of form, I don’t even know how many goals he has scored in recent weeks,” Modric said.
“It’s important for him to be plugged in, as he currently is.
“With him like this, we have a good chance of coming through this tie.”
Real Madrid made it to the last eight of the Champions League after beating PSG in the round of 16.
Juventus saw off Tottenham and the two were drawn together in a repeat of last year’s final.
That saw Madrid end up 4-1 victors with that man Ronaldo netting twice at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
