• Hazard claims Chelsea to be ready for next season
• The club offer £100,000-a-week more to convince their star
• The player reckons the title hunt will not be so one-sided
The 27-year-old Belgian is yet to extend his Chelsea deal with the current one expiring in summer 2020. Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard suggests that a new agreement is still not there as the club are ready to offer their chief star £300,000 a week to convince him to stay. Part of the dealy may be the fact that Hazard demands strong action from Chelsea over the summer transfer market.
For next season, however, Hazard seems poised to stay as he told Evening Standard: ”Yes. We have a lot of top players, players who are used to winning trophies. We will be ready next season. I think all of the players and the club want one thing and that’s to win the title. Of course, we will see if we can bring in some new players. But we will be focused on winning the title, that’s it.

The Belgian understands City have been on another level this term, but he is not sure they will continue in this particular league: ”If City keep playing like this, it is going to be hard, but you never know in football. It is always hard to win the League one season and then win it again next year. Can winning the FA Cup in the last game be taken into the start of next season? Yes, of course.”
He adds that missing out on the Champions League is not to be mourned: ”Some of us are playing in the World Cup but we need the mentality we showed against Manchester United for next season. Okay, we don’t play in the Champions League but last year we didn’t play in it and won the League.”
Right now, Eden is not ready to publicly speak of Chelsea contract negotiations though with Belgium set to embark on World Cup journey: ”I am at Chelsea and have two years left on my contract. It is what I have been saying every week. Yes, I am focused on the World Cup now and then we will see.”
