Argentina captain Lionel Messi has said he will exchange Barcelona title for a trophy with Argentina’s national team
Messi has enjoyed a career filled with various trophies in Barcelona, however, five times Golden Ball winner is still looking for the first important title with Argentina.
The 30-year-old led Argentina to Brazil’s 2014 finals, but was not enough after be ing defeated by Germany. Also, Messi experienced two consecutive losses in the America’s Cup final in 2015 and 2016.
After a season in which he won La Liga and the King’s Cup , which led to his 32 of trophies won in Barça, Messi wants to enjoy his success with the National team.
“I would exchange a title with Barcelona for a trophy with the national team,” Messi told Argentine television El Trece.
“To win a title with Argentina would be something very special,” he added.
Argentina starts its campaign at the World Cup on 16 June against Iceland.
