Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has kept up “continuous contact” with Ousmane Dembele, according to a French source L’Equipe. The report also claims Dembele is aware of Mislintat sitting down with Barca, but he is still committed to being focused on the World Cup.
Dembele and Mislintat have a history – our current head of recruitment helped the young talent to join his old club Borussia Dortmund from Rennes in 2016. The Arsenal target spent only one season in the Bundesliga club, he moved to the Camp Nou for £135.5 million last summer.
Earlier, there were reports by Daily Mail that newly appointed Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, wants to strengthen his side to fight for the Premier League title next season and has already set up four men wanted list. Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele is the main target and Arsenal will consider making a season-long loan bid in summer. The other 3 names on the list are Jean Michael Seri, Jonny Evans and Bernd Leno.
Moreover, Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague informed that Barca might let the 21-year-old forward go on loan to give him more playing time should Antoine Griezmann arrive in summer. However, it is believed that Dembele is not looking to leave and will fight for his place in the Catalan capital.
Although, not all reports are so positive. especially after his impressive goal in a friendly vs Italia ahead on the World Cup:
