Paris Saint-Germain presented their new signing, Gianluigi Buffon, to the media on Monday and the Italian goalkeeper stated that he wouldn’t be surprised if Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus.

Buffon left Juventus this summer after his contract expired, and the Bianconeri appear to be on the brink of making a move in the market that they have only been able to dream of since the turn of the millennium.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ronaldo at Juventus,” he explained in an interview with Sky Sport.

“It would make me happy because it’s what the Juventus world needs. They have to find new idols and exalt them.”

Ronaldo’s signing coming in the same summer as Buffon’s departure would be seen as unfortunate for the 40-year-old stopper, although he denied this.

“It doesn’t bother me,” he admitted.

“What bothered me were the two goals he scored in the final and the ones he scored last year. It would be a fantastic advertisement for Italian football.”
