PSV Eindhoven face a tough task of visiting the Camp Nou on Tuesday evening as the Champions League gets underway with the Dutch side taking on Barcelona and Hirving Lozano is aware of the threats facing them.
The 23-year-old admitted to holding some affection towards the Catalan side as well as adding that he considers his opponent on Tuesday to be the world’s best.
“It will be very complicated,” he said at his press conference.
“They are a great team, with great players, we will try to do the best we can.
“I had several posters in my room, one of Barcelona. [Lionel] Messi has always been a great player and he is fearsome. For me he’s the best in the world, we’ll have to see how we can stop him.”
His childhood affection considered, Lozano will be realising a dream when he steps out at the Camp Nou
“It’s a dream come true,” he said.
“I never thought about it but thank God I have been given the chance.
“It’s an important game for me and I want to make the most of it.”
The Mexican was also asked about interest in him from Barcelona, which he acknowledged as being true.
“I did well at the World Cup and many clubs came for me. My agent told me there was interest from Barcelona.
“It would be a dream come true to come to this great club.”
