Ronaldo returns to the stadium where he won his first Real Madrid trophy

He may only have left LaLiga Santander in the summer, but already Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Spain as his Juventus side take on Valencia in the Champions League.

This means the No.7 is returning to the Mestalla, the stadium where he won his first silverware with Real Madrid.

It was in the 2011 Copa del Rey final, when Jose Mourinho and Ronaldo’s Real Madrid finally stopped Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona side, with the Portuguese forward heading home in extra time to earn the 1-0 victory.

Los Blancos also won the 2014 final there against the same opponents, although Ronaldo had to watch that game from the stands due to injury.

Ronaldo also enjoyed a lot of success when he took on Valencia at the Mestalla, visiting Los Che nine times, winning five times and scoring eight goals against Juventus’ Champions League rivals at the ground.

On Wednesday night, he’ll hope to score one more time on Spanish soil.
