Real Madrid fans chant Ronaldo’s name during Atletico draw

Cristiano Ronaldo may not have always had the smoothest relationship with Real Madrid fans but it certainly seems that they are missing him now that he’s gone.

Ronaldo ended his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu when he joined Juventus in a deal worth £100million during the summer.

Los Blancos made a solid start to the season but have now won just one of their last four La Liga matches with a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Sevilla followed up by a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Julen Lopetegui’s men failed to get on the scoresheet despite registering 15 shots against their local rivals, leading some some supporters to begin chanting ‘Ronaldo, Ronaldo’.

The Portuguese forward scored a staggering 451 goals in 438 appearances for the club, becoming their all-time top goalscorer in the process.

It seems Madrid fans will be quick to point at his departure should the team struggle on the pitch this season.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, has made a strong start to life in Italy, contributing three goals and four assists in seven Serie A appearances.

The 33-year-old set up two and played a part in the third as Juventus beat title rivals Napoli 3-1 at the weekend.
