Pirlo: I told Juve to sign De Jong, but Barca were quicker to get him

Former Juventus star Andrea Pirlo talks about Frenkie De Jong after Ajax eliminated Juve in Champions League.

De Jong shined in both legs of Champions League quarter-finals as Ajax knocked Ronaldo’s Juve out with a 3-2 aggregate win.

‘De Jong is very good, I’ve been following him for several years,’ said Pirlo.

‘For several times, I recommended Juventus to follow him more closely and told their management to sign him.’

‘But then Barcelona appeared and they were better and faster to take him away.’
