Could Cristiano Ronaldo return to Real Madrid this summer?

Ronaldo quit Real for Juve last summer, less than two months after winning the Champions League for the third season running.

Zinedine Zidane stepping down may have been a factor in his decision to leave but the Frenchman’s return to the club has sparked speculation of a reunion with Ronaldo.

When asked about the possibility of the Portuguese returning, Zidane remained coy.

“That is not today’s issue,” he said.

“We have 11 games to play, then we will see for next years.

“We all know Cristiano, the history of this club, one of the best but today is not for talking about these things.”

The speculation comes amid news that:

And while Burns isn’t convinced Ronaldo will return to the Bernabeu after just a year, he believes it’s more likely to happen if the forward can win the Champions League with a third different club.

“I personally don’t think so,” he exclusively told Starsport.

“Of course it would be the ultimate fairy story.

“It depends how Juventus sees him.

“Because obviously as far as Juventus are concerned and Ronaldo’s agent and himself is more than aware of this.

“His big challenge is to basically be the saviour and the great white knight of Juventus and pull it off like he did at Manchester United and did at Real Madrid.”
