Given that the entire footballing world is aware of Real Madrid’s need to overhaul their squad, they have been offered all kinds of players in recent weeks and one of them was Dusan Tadic.

The 30-year-old Serbian has 34 goals and 21 assists for Ajax this season and was a major factor as the Dutch side defeated Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier in the season.

Following his impressive display at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of the last 16 tie, his agents called up the directors at the Spanish club to offer the forward’s services.

The fact his wages wouldn’t be as high as other candidates and the fact he’d only cost around 15 million euros made him an interesting option, however Real Madrid didn’t want him.

Although Los Blancos made it clear that they consider Tadic a very good player, he is not what they’re looking for.

Their plan is to strengthen the attack by signing a player who can be compatible with Karim Benzema and who is also young.

Luka Jovic ticks both those boxes and remains the number one target.
