The Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir has been appointed by UEFA to oversee Barcelona’s semi-final second-leg clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Cakir has already officiated Barcelona in the knockout stages of the Champions League this season as he was in charge for their 0-0 draw away at Lyon in the round of 16.

The 42-year-old has overseen Barcelona on another eight occasions in Europe’s premier competition, but his most notable appointment came in the 2015 Champions League final as Cakir was the lead official in Barcelona’s 3-1 triumph over Juventus in Berlin.
