Ousmane Dembele was handed a transfer ultimatum by Barcelona after he turned up late for another training session, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, made 42 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan club during the 2018-19 season.

Despite scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists during the campaign, the France international has found himself under scrutiny with questions over his attitude.

The player reportedly angered staff and players by missing a training session in November before turning up late to another a month later.

And AS now reports that Dembele once again failed to report to Barcelona training on time during the week leading up to the Copa del Rey final on May 25, which Ernesto Valverde’s side lost 2-1 to Valencia.

According to the Spanish publication, the winger used the hamstring injury he suffered against Celta Vigo at the start of May to explain his absence, claiming that he was doing recovery work with a separate physiotherapist.

Although it is claimed that Valverde didn’t have much to say on the incident, it is said that senior figures at the club warned the Frenchman that he would be transfer listed if it happened again.
