Ousmane Dembele makes transfer decision amid Barcelona exit speculation

Ousmane Dembele is refusing to be forced out of Barcelona this summer.

The World Cup winner is wanted by Bayern Munich and the German giants have been keeping tabs on his situation at Camp Nou.

Liverpool too have been linked with the 22-year-old, with Jurgen Klopp a long-time fan of the winger.

Barcelona are pushing to take Neymar back to Catalunya from Paris Saint-Germain – two years after his world record £200million move – while Antoine Griezmann is also being targeted by the Spanish champions.

As such, Dembele is the man most likely to be pushed aside should Barcelona seek to land the pair – despite the recent declaration from president Josep Maria Bartomeu that he hoped to keep Dembele at the club.

The young Frenchman is Barcelona’s most likely source to generate the necessary funds to land the duo.

Barca splashed out over £100million to land him from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, handing him Neymar’s No.11 shirt in the process.

But Dembele, who scored 14 goals in 42 games last season, is determined to remain.

“The chances that Ousmane will play at Bayern next season are almost zero,” a source close to Dembele told Sky Germany.

“He is and will remain at Barcelona.”

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been pushing the idea to take Dembele back to Germany, believing he is the ideal candidate to replace Franck Ribery.

Bayern had initially targeted Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, but the German winger is keen to remain at the Etihad and City have little intention of parting with the 2017/18 PFA Young Player of the Year
