West Ham rrady to pay 40 million for Juventus striker

West Ham United have asked Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain at a cost of €40m, according to Sky Sport Italia, after they were rejected by several strikers.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Hammers offered the same €40m for Maxi Gomez and Sebastien Haller, but both the Celta Vigo forward and Eintracht Frankfurt star rejected the transfer, believing they can aim higher.

Now the €40m budget could be used for Higuain, although West Ham want the Argentine veteran on loan with option to buy.

The option would become an obligation if certain conditions were met during the Premier League season.

Pipita is 31 years old and returned to base from disappointing loan spells with Milan and Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri does not intend to keep him at Juventus and the striker has so far turned down a move to Roma, but could accept another go at the Premier League
