According to Catalan outlet Diario Sport, Marseille consider making a bid for Barca’s Arturo Vidal. Allegedly, the French team might need someone to replace Luiz Gustavo, who is likely to leave the club, with Fenerbahce interested. As such, Andre Villas-Boas is said to see the Chilean as a perfect fit.

Nonetheless, the same source claims that the 32-year-old would prefer to stay put, despite an overcrowded midfield at Camp Nou. Moreover, the Ligue 1 outfit are believed to be unable to afford his move at the moment.

Should the midfielder accept a move out, Inter Milan are likely to be his destination, as Vidal will get the chance to work with his ex-coach Antonio Conte.

Although Arturo might end up playing less minutes than he did last season, Ernesto Valverde is reportedly happy with the Chile international staying, as he offers something special to the midfield – physicality. In the latest La Liga match, Vidal started from the bench but was subbed in later and scored the final goal in the 5-2 Real Betis win.

Last season, Vidal accumulated 2.744 minutes in 53 appearances for Barcelona and scored three goals. He was mostly used as a substitute or a back-up midfielder. At first, the Chilean couldn’t accept such a minor role but soon got used to his situation and is now said to be perfectly happy with it.
