According to Le Parisien, representatives of the club met with the hardcore supporters to avoid further insults towards the Brazilian at the Parc des Princes.

Neymar’s summer-long bid to engineer an exit from the Parc des Princes appears to have fizzled out with the player admitting defeat in his attempt to secure a move back to Barcelona and PSG are already working to ensure that the Brazilian star does not face further opprobrium from supporters on his eventual return to action.

Thomas Tuchel left Neymar out of his first four squads of the Ligue 1 season while his situation remained unclear but will welcome the forward back into the fold barring any last-minute surprises on the final day of the transfer market. However, the reaction of sections of the PSG support is a cause of concern for the club and representatives have met with the ultras to ensure that there are no repeats of the incidents during PSG’s opening game of the campaign against Nimes in Paris.

During that fixture, fans chanted “Neymar, son of a bitch” and displayed banners with messages including “Neymar Casse toi” (“Neymar get lost”) and “Se faire taper par une pute n’arrive pas qu’en remontada tu t’en souviens?” (“Being hit by a prostitute doesn’t only happen during a comeback, do you remember?), in allusion to Neymar describing his career highlight being Barcelona’s stunning 6-1 defeat of PSG in the Champions League.

PSG ultras to show “indifference” to Neymar

PSG were subsequently fined €2,000 by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) Disciplinary Committee and the club are keen to make sure that Neymar is not subjected to any more abuse when he eventually returns to the pitch.

According to Le Parisien, who spoke to two members of PSG’s ultras, the hardcore supporters’ group did not specifically say there would be any chants directed at Neymar but said the ultras would “concentrate on supporting the team and showing their indifference to Neymar.”

Another ultra consulted said that Neymar would be expected to knuckle down and “purely and exclusively concentrate on his job.”
