Paul Pogba’s mystery foot injury has finally been diagnosed as a ‘cracked toe’, according to reports in France.

But it is not thought that the Manchester United star will need surgery to solve the issue as he battles to be fit to face Liverpool on October 20.

The club and player are preferring to go down the ‘natural’ route of recovery, according to L’Equipe.

Pogba took a knock in the Carabao Cup penalty shootout over Rochdale last month where a scan revealed a ‘microfisure’.

He then played in last week’s draw against Arsenal, where the pain in his foot worsened.

Recovery time could take a two-to-three weeks, making him a doubt for the clash with Jurgen Klopp’s men at Old Trafford next weekend.
