n an interview with the German outlet Der Spiegel, Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has picked his favourite in the Ballon d’Or run.
Mbappe doesn’t hesitate to answer.
“Messi. In individual terms, he was the best this year,” claims the Frenchman.
Interestingly, Kylian himself is on the 30-man list of those who compete for the prize. Throughout the 2018/19 season, Mbappe scored 39 goals in 43 games for the Parisians.
Kylian Mbappe is considered as Barcelona-linked, although there’s not much interest from the Catalan side. The 20-year-old winger is more likely to join Real Madrid, according to the reports. However, it’s still possible that the Frenchman will stay in Paris for a couple of seasons.
As for the Ballon d’Or award, Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk are believed to be the favourites for the award at this stage. Cristiano Ronaldo is naturally expected to make the final trio as well. The winner will be announced at the gala ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet on December 2.
