Paulo Dybala was reportedly waiting on a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the summer.
The Argentine forward was tipped to leave Juventus in the summer transfer window and was linked with Manchester United.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Dybala wanted to play in Spanish football and was waiting for either Barcelona, his favourite team, or Real Madrid to call him.
Neither Josep Maria Bartomeu or Florentino Perez decided to make a move for him and he stayed at Juventus instead.
Dybala has experienced a revival of sorts in Turin under Maurizio Sarri and netted a superb freekick against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
