Former Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has labeled Kevin De Bruyne as “one of the best players” he has ever played with.

The Belgian star was at his brilliant best in north London as Pep Guardiola’s side beat Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates.

De Bruyne grabbed a first-half break either side of teeing up Raheem Sterling to cap off the perfect opening 45 minutes for the Premier League champions.

Without the injured Sergio Aguero and David Silva, the 28-year-old was City’s driving force and was a class above the Arsenal midfield, dictating the tempo of the match with ease.

His performance didn’t go unnoticed in the Sky Sports studio and former City and Arsenal right-back Sagna gave a glowing review on De Bruyne and his performance.

“He’s a genius. He made City win today and he makes City’s games a lot easier,” he said after the full-time whistle.

“No matter the choice he has to make he always makes the right decision. Whenever he has to play one-touch, he plays one-touch and if he has to keep it a bit longer, he keeps it a bit longer.

“From the first training session I was impressed because he’s so clever, he always stays away from us as defensive players. In his position he’s always in the right place. He always look around before receiving the ball.

“He’s probably one of the best players I’ve ever played with.”
