Frenkie de Jong spoke after his first Clasico as a Barcelona player. “The game in itself was a bit disappointing,” he told Ziggo Sport. “The atmosphere and all was great but we wanted to play better. If you’re Barca and you play at home you always have to win.”

Madrid’s pressure penned Barcelona back. “They pressed us a lot this time, as a consequence we had one on one situations in attack but I don’t think we got to the forwards well enough, that was the main problem.”

The 0-0, the first in a Clasico since 2002, keeps Barcelona top of La Liga.

“If you draw at home, you’re never satisfied. I think that it suited to Madrid. They pressed and played bravely. They didn’t beat us and they did play well.”
