5 soon-to-be free agents that Barca could land

Diario Sport have compiled a list of players Barca may consider signing for free next summer.

January is coming up, meaning that clubs can start offering contracts to players that have less than six months at their current teams. Here are the players Blaugrana could make a move for.

Willian

The Brazilian has been linked with Barcelona for several consecutive transfer windows now, although the move never happened. The 31-year-old has scored five goals and provided four assists in 25 games now. Still, Diario Sport claim he hopes to stay at Chelsea.

Pedro

The winger doesn’t hide his readiness to return to Camp Nou if Barca give him a call. However, Pedro’s peak years have already passed, so the Catalans may only consider him as a back-up option. The 32-year-old has only made 10 appearances this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Christian Eriksen

Bringing the Dane would be the biggest bargain, no doubt. The 27-year-old was linked with a possible Real Madrid switch back in summer but he ended up staying. The €90m-rated playmaker has scored two goals and provided three assists in 21 matches across the board. Besides the Catalans, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are all said to be interested.

Jan Vertonghen

The Belgian is already 32 but still has everything it takes to be a regular starter in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur. Jan can be deployed both as a centre-back and a left-back. Although it could be a good move, Barca already have two left-footed centre-backs in Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet.

David Silva

The Spaniard has started in 14 games this season despite being already 33. David could be leaving Manchester City after 10 years at the club but there still is a chance that he stays at the Etihad Stadium, Diario Sport say.

Other options: Edinson Cavani (PSG), Thomas Meunier (PSG), Dries Mertens (Napoli), Blaise Matuidi (Juventus),
