Brazilian youngster Reinier has undergone a medical ahead of his move to Real Madrid, and will sign a six-and-a-half-year contract.

The highly-rated teenager is set to join Los Blancos on January 19, the day which he turns 18 years old.

Real Madrid will pay 30 million euros to Flamengo for the young starlet, who will move to the Spanish capital on February 9 after his commitments with the Brazilian Olympic team.

Reinier has already had his medical examinations carried out while with the Olympic team and will put pen-to-paper on a contract which will expire in June 2026.

Real Madrid would have liked Reinier to have joined immediately after the transfer is announced but he is a key part of his country’s push to qualify for the Tokyo games.

Despite his huge talent, Los Blancos have a long-term strategy in mind for Reinier, and will therefore be incorporated into Real Madrid Castilla rather than heading straight into the first team, though he will be closely followed by Zinedine Zidane and his staff.
