Laro Setien, Sant Andreu player and Quique Setien’s son, has told the story of how he learnt his father was taking over at Barcelona.

The ex-Real Betis and Las Palmas coach was the chosen one to succeed Ernesto Valverde at the Camp Nou, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

“I had already seen things on social media,” Laro Setien said to El Larguero.

“I was playing Fortnite with my friends and my father called me to tell me he had signed.

“I don’t know if he dreamt of it, but it’s what he’s always wanted, that’s for sure.

“It’s a great joy for him.”

Laro admitted that he preferred Real Madrid as a youngster, but is blown away by the idea of his father coaching Lionel Messi.

“F***, coaching Messi, f***,” the 24-year-old continued. “I saw him train yesterday and I drooled.

“I liked Real Madrid when I was little, but I was very young then.

“When Messi arrived I started playing as Barcelona [in video games].

“He [Quique] is coaching the best in the world, they’re one of the best teams in the world and everyone knows Messi, [Luis] Suarez and the rest.”
