Real Madrid pursuit of Donny van de Beek has handed Juventus a boost in landing their top summer target Paul Pogba, according to reports.

The Spanish giants have reportedly struck a deal with Ajax that will see the Holland midfielder join in the summer for £47million.

And according to Tuttosport, that will open the way for the Serie A champions to complete a deal for Manchester United midfielder Pogba, with Real now seemingly out of the picture.

They report that Juventus have had their eye on bringing the France international back to Turin for some time, with his prominence off the field as important to them as his performance on it.

They state that Andrea Agnelli, the club’s chairman, is keen on attracting stars who can add to the side’s value on both a social and playing front, as exemplified by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018.

And Pogba would certainly fit that criteria, with the player boasting 38.9million followers on Instagram, as well as 7.3million on Twitter.

Conversly, Van de Beek’s pending move to the Spanish capital could actually stall any exit for Pogba.

The 22-year-old was thought to be a top target for United in their search to replace the wantaway Frenchman, whose current contract runs until June 2021.

With that now looking unlikely, they will need to identify a new target, before letting Pogba go.
