Barcelona have seen a bid of €10m plus Ivan Rakitic for Juventus’ Federico Bernadeschi rejected by the Serie A champions, according to reports in Italy.

The left-footed winger has featured 14 times in the league for Juve this season, but has yet to score in Serie A this term.

This distinct lack of goal threat, coupled with Douglas Costa’s rise of form, has led to Bernadeschi being an unused substitute in Juventus’ last four league games and question marks are now being made about his future in Turin.

Though according to Sky Italia, as per Football Italia, the Serie A club have swatted away a first approach from Barcelona which would have seen Ivan Rakitic joined the Old Lady.

According to Sky Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, it will take a bid of at least €20m plus Rakitic to convince Juventus to part company with their left-footed winger.

Bernadeschi has scored 9 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants since joining from Fiorentina for a €40m fee.

The winger has also grown into a reliable player for Roberto Mancini’s Italian national team over the past 12 months, scoring twice in eight matches for the Azzurri in 2019.

Meanwhile, Rakitic’s future at Barcelona is slowly becoming a long transfer saga, with the 31-year-old strongly linked with a move away from the Camp Nou despite featuring heavily for the Catalan club in recent weeks.

However, a significant injury to fellow Barca midfielder Arthur Melo means that the La Liga champions cannot afford to let Rakitic leave as it would leave them with a shortage of options in the middle of the park.

Rakitic has racked up nearly 300 appearances in all competitions since joining from Sevilla in 2014, winning four La Liga titles, four Copa del Reys and one Champions League trophy with the club.
