It was back to normal for Unionistas de Salamanca on Thursday as they returned to training ahead their match against Alaves B this weekend.
There was a reward for their efforts against Real Madrid on Wednesday as their opponents’ shirts were distributed amongst the squad.
The Unionistas players were able to pick which shirts they wanted to keep, with first choice reserved for those who have been at the club the longest.
Piojo, Unionistas’ captain, and Ayoze Placeres chose Karim Benzema’s shirt; David Gallego and Juan Gongora chose Isco’s; Amouzou Matthieu chose Lucas Vazquez’s; and Jose Angel picked Nacho Fernandez’s.
The happiest of them all was Carlos de la Nava, who swapped shirts directly with Casemiro after the game, with the Brazilian signing a message for the Unionistas player.
“For Carlos, with love. I wish you all the best. Casemiro,” it reads.
“Casemiro asked me for my shirt, incredible. He’s an amazing guy,” De la Nava said.
