Lyon President Aulas interviewed by Tuttosport and claims he thinks Ronaldo is the best player, who Lyon was tried to sign at the age of 16.
“I like Messi, he, as well as Ronaldo, are two phenomenal players right now, but I think Ronaldo is the best player. He’s strong, effective and efficient. I didn’t vote for the Ballon d’Or last year. But if it’s up to me I think Ronaldo should win that.”
“I could have signed Ronaldo when he was 16. I noticed him during a youth tournament in Portugal. He was already a great player by then. We tried but unfortunately, we didn’t make the deal. But I’m still satisfied to witness a legend started his career. Ronaldo is a crazy player, and it doesn’t surprise me at all that he can still score so many goals at 35.
He also asked about questions about Mbappe and the comparisons between Lyon’s young talent Cherki and Mbappe.
“Where should Mbappe go if he leaves PSG? Perhaps Real Madrid, because Zidane is his idol.”
Aulas also stated that “perhaps Rayan Cherki is more skilful than Mbappé, if he stays at Lyon for a few more years, he will become even better than Mbappé.”
