As speculation continues surrounding the future of Inter forward Lautaro Martinez, his agent Albert Yaque has only served to fuel the rumours further.
Barcelona are among the clubs linked with the Argentinian forward, and whilst Yaque denied speaking to any clubs, he made it clear that it was an exciting prospect.
“Who wouldn’t like to play with [Lionel] Messi?” he responded when asked if Lautaro has ever said he would like to play with the Barcelona ace.
“Talking about games that they played in the national team, he said it was a dream, imagine it, to play so young for Argentina and with Messi, but he doesn’t talk about that much, he’s a reserved boy.
“If we asked him where he’d want to play, he wouldn’t tell us anything, he wouldn’t lose his head about big clubs wanting him but there’s nothing official today.”
The agent was also keen to emphasise that rumours are pure speculation.
“It’s all rumours in the press, they call me from Madrid, from Barcelona, from England, because they say that Real Madrid want him, Barcelona want him, Chelsea want him, but I’d be lying if I said there was something.”
With all this in mind, he also gave insight into his current talks on a new deal to stay in Milan.
“With this situation that’s going on, we haven’t spoken any more with Inter,” he said, before saying that there has not been contact with any other clubs.
“Yes, we talk to people who aren’t directly involved with clubs, but they are contacts.
“But it’s contact, through respect, but nothing formal, I insist that if there is anything between clubs, we don’t know, but not from us.”
Before the pandemic brought football to a halt, the 22-year-old striker had scored 16 goals in 31 games this season.
