Arsene Wenger is confident that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are ready to rule over world football, following on from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Both Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the game’s individual awards for over a decade now, but the Frenchman believes their spell at the top is coming to an end.

“We’ve never seen players like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who can be absolutely creative in any tight situation,” Wenger told talkSPORT.

“These players are now getting to the end.

“It’s now about the next generation and they may be French.

“At the moment, the leader could be Mbappe, and of course we know Neymar.”
