Chelsea continue to be interested in signing Juventus star Federico Chiesa, who could leave the Bianconeri after just two seasons.
Fabrizio Romano spoke on his podcast ‘Here We Go’, claiming that Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel would be happy if the club signed with the Italian.
According to journalist Romano, the German coach is an admirer of the former Fiorentina player.
Chiesa has been an important player for Juventus and Italy since joining the Bianconeri, while helping the Azzurri win the European Championship.
He scored 14 goals and contributed 11 assists in his first season with the Turin giants, while so far he has three goals and three assists.
It seems that the chances of Juventus selling their player are small, but there is a condition that could become important for both teams.
La Gazzetta dello Sport went on to say that a host of players may have to leave if the “Old Lady” does not qualify for the Champions League next season.
A place outside the top four would lead to an expected loss of € 80 million in revenue and Chiesa is among the names that could be sacrificed by the Bianconeri.
Romano points out that rumors of a possible move to Chelsea for Chiesan have only arisen because of Tuchel’s admiration for the Italian star.
“He thinks Chiesa is one of the best wingers in the game,” he added.
Chiesa scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Allianz Stadium on 29 September.
