Gerard Pique seems to have found an answer that football fans can love in the debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the best in football history.
The Spanish defender has had the luxury of playing with Messi and Ronaldo in his brilliant career.
He was briefly team-mate with the Portuguese star at Manchester United and enjoyed a magical period with the seven-time Barcelona Ballon d’Or winner.
So Pique has something to say when asked about Messi and Ronaldo, having seen the legendary football duo up close.
And he offered an extremely diplomatic answer to the old football question, saying that Messi is not human, which makes Ronaldo the best among people.
“I think they are both wonderful. “We are talking about two of the best players, not only in the world, but also in the history of this sport”, declared Pique in BT Sports.
“I have always said that Messi has a talent that no one has. “I mean, he has the ball and his speed that controls the ball.”
“The ball does not move two meters away from his foot, he is always there, it is impossible to catch him, I did not see this talent in anyone.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a very different player, they are very different. He is tall, strong, he is really complete. “He can do anything.”
“He can score goals with his head, free kicks, penalties, win one-on-one duels.”
“But for me it’s like Messi is not human, but Cristiano is the best of the people,” added the Spaniard.
This perfectly sums up the rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo, with the Paris Saint-Germain superstar who often knows how to score goals and assists that leave him speechless.
