Olympique de Marseille is pleased to announce that Javier Ribalta has joined the club’s sports organization. He has been appointed Director of Football.
At 41 years old, Javier Ribalta already has a rich experience in the European soccer world. He has worked for several prestigious clubs such as AC Milan, Manchester United and Juventus Turin. He recently held the position of sporting director at Zenit St. Petersburg and then technical director at Parma Calcio 1913 until June.
During his time at Juventus Turin, from 2015 to 2017, Javier was able to team up with Pablo Longoria forming a tandem combining modernity, methodology and experience in the recruitment field. Reunited again, this time in the management of the Phocaean club, the Spanish director will be responsible for overseeing the entire sports policy of the club.
David Friio, who has been at OM since 2020 as Technical Director, has been appointed Sports Director.
He will be in charge of the relationship between the management and the professional group as well as the management of the scouting teams.
