Former Barcelona player sentence with 22 months in jail

Samuel Eto’o has been sentenced to 22 months in prison for tax evasion in Spain.

Eto’o pleaded guilty to evading 3.8m euros in taxes while playing in Spain.

In Spain, Eto’o played for several clubs from 1997 to 2009 (Real Madrid, Leganes, Espanyol, Mallorca, Barcelona), and admitted his guilt at a hearing on Monday.
