Marcus Rashford believes there is a “buzz” around Carrington after new boss Erik ten Hag made an impression in his first week of training as Manchester United manager. The United players not involved in the June internationals returned to pre-season training at the start of the week and they’ve had the first opportunity to experience Ten Hag’s methods at Carrington.

Rashford is already excited to work with the 52-year-old having seen first-hand his attention to detail on the training pitches. Despite it being a smaller squad to work with this week, Ten Hag has got his ideas across and Rashford can already see it having an impact.

“We have got that feeling of excitement and that buzz around the training ground again and so it is definitely positive going into pre-season,” he told MUTV.
“It is just about, one, getting the principles right of how Erik wants us to play and the details, and, two, enjoying it. In the first week of training we have done both and everyone is looking forward to going on the tour and putting what we have done in training into the first games.”

United were in desperate need of a lift after the end of a disastrous season in 2021/22, finishing sixth and missing out on Champions League football. Rashford endured a difficult campaign and the wheels came off for United in spectacular fashion, resulting in some heavy defeats.
