In an interview with “Jutarnji List”, Luka Modric spoke about Kylian Mbappe’s decision to reject Real Madrid and stay at PSG.
Modric confirmed that everyone at Real believed that Mbappe would arrive, but claimed that no player is more important than the club.
“Mbappe decided what he decided and that is his right. Mbappe made a decision and he has to live with the decision he made. We all thought he would come to us, but in the end it didn’t turn out that way. You can’t judge him, he’s a fantastic player. However, I always say the same thing, nobody is more important than a club. “Real Madrid is bigger than everyone, Real Madrid is above everyone and every footballer,” said Modric.
Real fans criticized the Croatian for asking for Mbappe’s shirt in the first match with PSG, but Modric has now explained that he did it to give it to his friend Domogoj Vida’s child.
