Paulo Dybala opens door to Manchester United move after making transfer U-turn

Free agent Paulo Dybala is now willing to consider a move to the Premier League, opening the door to the possibility he could replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.

The Argentine has been without a club since leaving Juventus at the end of his contract and his preference had been to remain in Italy, with Inter widely considered front-runners for his signature.

But, according to Sky Sport Italia, no offers have materialised from Serie A clubs and Dybala is now ready to evaluate offers from England and Spain instead.

He would prefer a move to the Premier League over La Liga and both United and Arsenal are believed to have already made contact with his agent.

United’s interest in Dybala is now expected to ramp up in the coming days should the club allow Ronaldo to leave, with the Portuguese star having made it clear he does not want to remain at Old Trafford.

The 37-year-old does not feel the Red Devils are in a position to challenge for silverware, while he is extremely reluctant to spend a year outside of the Champions League at this stage in his career.

After initially rebuffing suggestions that Ronaldo could leave the club, United’s stance is believed to have softened and they would now entertain offers.

The likes of Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Napoli, Bayern Munich and now even Barcelona have been linked with moves, though United would block a switch to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

If Ronaldo gets his wish and leaves Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag will need to bring in at least two new attackers with Edinson Cavani having already left the club and Mason Greenwood still suspended.

Right now, United’s only options to play through the middle are Anthony Martial – who was loaned to Sevilla in January – and Marcus Rashford, who has predominantly played his best football on the left wing.
