New Italian Premier League club Monza, owned by Silvio Berlusconi, has begun negotiations with former Napoli and PSG goal scorer Edinson Cavani (35), Italian media reported. Cavani is a free agent because his contract with Manchester United expired on June 30. He was already linked in the media with Salernitana and Tor ino.
According to Sky Sports Italia, Monza have now emerged as a potential new destination for the experienced striker and Monza director Adriano Galliani has opened talks with Cavani’s representatives. Monza want to bring in a quality central striker, so they turned to Cavani. In seven seasons at Palermo and Napoli, he scored 112 goals in 212 Serie A games.
Monza, which will play in Serie A for the first time, has already brought six reinforcements. Stefano Censi, Andrea Ranocchia, Alessio Cranio, Matteo Pessina, Andrea Carboni and Samuele Birindelli have arrived at the club and with these names, along with Edinson Cavani, it will definitely be one of the most interesting clubs to watch next season in the elite of Italian Calcio.
