New Italian Premier League club Monza, owned by Silvio Berlusconi, has begun negotiations with former Napoli and PSG goal scorer Edinson Cavani (35), Italian media reported. Cavani is a free agent because his contract with Manchester United expired on June 30. He was already linked in the media with Salernitana and Tor ino.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Monza have now emerged as a potential new destination for the experienced striker and Monza director Adriano Galliani has opened talks with Cavani’s representatives. Monza want to bring in a quality central striker, so they turned to Cavani. In seven seasons at Palermo and Napoli, he scored 112 goals in 212 Serie A games.

Monza, which will play in Serie A for the first time, has already brought six reinforcements.
