The sponsors are not giving in: Ronaldo must stay

Manchester United’s main sponsors do not want Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club this summer, British media claim.

According to them, the Portuguese is by far the most marketable football player and there is no other player who can replace him in that field. The Daily Star reports that sponsors have helped fund Ronaldo’s £500,000 weekly salary and would not want that investment to fail after just one year.

However, in this case the fault is not with United, but with the footballer who insists on leaving because he believes that United have an uncompetitive team for the upcoming season. He did not even appear at the start of the preparations and did not go with the team on the tour of the Far East and Australia.
